Wales has been playing rugby for a long time. The game was first introduced here in the nineteenth century and since then has evolved as one of the most popular games in the country.
The uniform of the Welsh national rugby team consists of a red jersey, white shorts and red socks. Whenever the color of their jersey clashes with that of a visiting team they change steel-colored jerseys with dark grey flashes. The team is sponsored by SA Brain, a brewery in Cardiff. As promotion of alcoholic beverages is banned in France, they use the term ‘Brawn' during their matches over there. These jerseys are manufactured by Reebok. Since 2004 they are sporting a tight fitting body hugging uniform for their matches. The Welsh jersey has the Prince of Welsh' feather symbol on it. The symbol consists of three white feathers behind a gold coronet. The national team wears a badge on their jerseys which depicts the logo of the Welsh Rugby Union.
The jerseys are designed in such a way that it makes the players look very smart and striking. All the Jerseys have buttoned top opening giving it an attractive look. The Jerseys are loose fitting allowing air to pass through. The collars are made stiffer so that the players get more comfort. Initially only cotton was used for making the Jerseys but nowadays synthetic is used for making the Jerseys as it is very difficult for the tacklers to grab.
