The Romania Flag is tricolored. The three colors blue, yellow and red are arranged vertically. With the decline of the Chausescu regime in Romania, the tricolor Romania Flag was reestablished in December 1989.These three colors of the Romania Flag are said to represent Romania's three historical provinces. It is an emblem of unity. At present times the colors are said to represent Transylvania, Moldavia and Wallachia.
The ratio of the height and width of the flag is 2:3.The Romanian law puts down the exact color of the Romania Flag as cobalt blue, chrome yellow and vermillion red. The three colors are arranged proportionately and each takes up 1/3 of the space of the national flag.
The national coat of arms of Romania that was initially at the center of the yellow band of the Romania Flag is there no longer. The present day national flag bear resemblance to the flag of Moldova, Chad and Andorra.
Ziua Tricolorului or the Flag Day in Romania is celebrated on 26th June and is a national holiday in the country.
Article 2 of the Romania law states that the Romania Flag has to be displayed permanently at the headquarters of public authority, political parties, cultural and educational institutions and international airports. Article 4 of the Romania Constitution states that the citizens of the nation may also display the Romania Flag at their residence.
