Weather in Russia
The winter weather is so severe in this federation that the temperature even falls to -43ºin Yakutsk. But towards the south, winter conditions are slightly better. During summer months temperature in southern Russia becomes quiet normal and pleasant. Russia receives very less amount of rainfall.
Factors Effecting Weather Russia
Russia location and topography greatly accounts for the type of extremely cold weather that prevails over the country. Most parts of the country are situated at great distance from the water bodies. In fact, central Russia is almost 3,840 km away from the sea. Hence, Russia cannot enjoy the moderating influence of the sea surrounding it.
In addition to this, there are huge mountain ranges in the east and south of the country that prevent the moderating and warming winds originating over the Pacific Ocean from entering Russia. But much to its disadvantage, there are no such mountain ranges on the northern part which could have guarded the country against the cold currents blowing from the Arctic Ocean and North Atlantic Ocean.
The best time to visit Russia is between the months of May and September for Weather Russia is comparatively warm during this period.
