Introduction
The Central American region is one of the places on earth where an amazing number of topographical and climatic features can be observed within a small and limited belt of land. It can easily be ranked among the most diverse land areas to be found any where in the globe. Over the ages the weather of Central America has been a subject of interest among weather specialists.
Such is the Central American weather that it traces a small but diverse climatic range like the tropical rain-forest climatic condition, the coastal, the mountainous and the island formations too.
Topography
Spread across a network of rivers, the region of Central America experiences mostly a tropical type of climate. Central America stretches from Mexico to the extreme North-West of the continent of South America. That way it pools in the South American countries of Colombia and Ecuador within its borders too.
Most of the rivers flowing across the South American continent also wash into the Caribbean Sea surrounding the Central region of America.
Climate
The weather of Central America is largely dependent on the fact that the landscape lies midway between the tropic of Cancer and the Equator. On this basis, the entire region can be fragment into 3 regions: the 'hot country' or "tierra caliente", the 'temperate country' or the "tierra templada", and the 'cold country' or the "tierra fria".
