Tsunami Warning is very important as it saves loss of human lives and property from the devastating death waves. The word Tsunami brings to the mind pictures of the lifeless bodies of millions of Tsunami victims in the Indian Ocean Tsunami in 2004. It is important to see that such a tragedy does not occur again and the people around the world are not forced to lose there near and dear ones in the hands of Weather-related disasters .

The most important instrument to save lives from getting affected by Tsunami is the Tsunami Warning System, which is a system made to identify a probable tsunami and prevent the loss of lives. The system consists of two important components, firstly the International Tsunami Warning System and secondly the Regional Tsunami Warning System.

The International Tsunami Warning System has three branches:

• Indian Ocean Tsunami Warning System
• Pacific Ocean Tsunami Warning System

North Eastern Atlantic, the Mediterranean and connected Seas Tsunami Warning System

The Regional Tsunami Warning System works with the help of the seismic information available from the local warning systems. These are also very important systems to warn the inhabitants while they can still make an effort to save their lives and property.

The objective of these tsunami warning centers is to identify, ascertain and decide the magnitude of the tsunami waves and communicate this information to all the weather offices in the region likely to be hit. This will be able to save loss of lives and property from this dangerous force of nature.
