In its most basic state, Water Droplets are a collection of several tiny volumes of water. The Water Droplets are free flowing drops.
Introduction :
A drop is a small quantity of some liquid or other that free on all sides. It is bound in the sides by nothing but free surfaces. A droplet is a micro sized portion of a drop.
So that renders a water droplet to be a small quantity of water which is free on all sides, having free surfaces binding the liquid within the drop.
A droplet of water is, therefore, a fragment of a drop of water which has broken off from the main and larger drop of the same liquid.
Formation of Water Droplets :
Droplets of water are formed when there is a tension caused during the process when the water is flowing. At this stage, the bonds between the several molecules of water not being able resist the tension caused by the speed and other external pressures. Unable to remain in a connected form, the water molecules collect into smaller groups to stabilize their formation. Hence the molecules gather to form drops of water. When even these small drops are unable to resist external pressures, they further fragmentize into smaller droplets.
Weather Illusions :
A prominent weather illusion, Water Droplets are to be found even where flowing water is absent. Particularly present in the atmosphere, water droplets are an important part of the earth's atmosphere too.
An important natural occurrence – rain occurs because of the saturation of numerous Water Droplets. These Water Droplets amass as clouds and on attaining saturation they rain down.
