WEATHER

Weather And Environment

Weather and environment are interrelated to one another. Weather includes all the daily changes of atmospheric phenomena like temperature, humidity, rainfall, wind, air pressure, sunshine and cloudiness. All these varied changes have a deep effect on the environment. Environment can be described as the set of various external conditions which affect living organisms. The disastrous aspects of weather have a negative effect on the environment and vice versa.

Problems of Weather and Environment:

The components of environment like air, water, soil and nature are also involved in some way with the weather. A proper ecological balance needs to maintained between these elements or else there will be widespread misery throughout the globe. The normal patterns of weather and environment are being hampered because of grave environmental problems. Some of the serious ones are:

  • Pollution and Weather are interlinked. Pollution of air, water and soil affects the weather. Due to natural and artificial reasons living organisms have to suffer the harmful effects of pollution. In addition to that the natural resources are also getting depleted.
  • Global Warming is another scary problem which is on the rise due to non-stop and unthoughtful industrial activities of man.
  • Greenhouse Effect is a major cause for the changes in the weather. The green house gases like carbon dioxide, water vapor and ozone trap the heat of the sun in the atmosphere of the Earth.

  • Depletion of the Ozone Layer or the “hole” in it, which we hear about is detrimental to weather and environment as it does not prevent the harmful ultraviolet rays of the sun from reaching the organisms. This can lead to skin cancer and other ailments.
  • Ice age can be induced with the increasing levels of certain gases and it can result in ice sheets in various parts of the world.
Weather and environment go hand in hand and what is bad for the environment cannot be good for weather.
