Water Cycle

Basically, Water Cycle is the route traversed by water as it goes from land to sky and comes back to the land again.

This journey taken by water in its myriad forms, as it circulates and traces a pathway from water bodies on the earth's surface to the sky and comes back to these water bodies is termed as the water cycle.
The cyclic pattern water traces gives the process its name.

Introduction
The Water Cycle is one of the elementary natural phenomenons that are taught to us in school. This is not just for the sake that it happens to be an important natural phenomenon, but also because it is an essential part of ecological awareness today.

The Water Cycle is also scientifically called by the name of 'Hydrologic Cycle'. Water is one of the things on earth that is always in movement. The Water Cycle is the feature that describes this movement. Since the movement of water has a full circle by returning to its source, hence, the process is given the name of 'Water Cycle'.

The Water Cycle
The Cycle traced by water also traces the various forms in which water is capable of taking, that is solid, liquid or vapor. As in every process, the Water Cycle too has several stages and parts which go about to complete the cycle. The vital stages of the Water Cycle are listed below:
  • Evaporation
  • Condensation
  • Precipitation
  • Collection
The stage of evaporation also involves the process of transpiration. So, the term 'transpiration' is sometimes substituted for the term 'evaporation'.
