National Hurricane Center is a separate wing of Tropical Prediction Center dealing with predictions of hurricanes, tropical storms and many other severe weather conditions. National Hurricane Center issues warnings for hurricanes 36 hours before the occurrence of storms. This famous meteorological center works in association with the National Weather Services in the United States.

History of National Hurricane Center
The origin of national Hurricane Center dates back to 1898. 25 th U.S. president, William McKinley founded the National Weather Service as a preventive measure against the threats of hurricanes. Hurricane related forecasting was assigned to the Miami branch office of the National Weather Service. This branch office is today's National Hurricane Center.

The employees at National Hurricane Center work on rotating shifts of eight-hour duration. They keep a close watch on the changing weather patterns through out the year.
