Severe Weather Conditions


Weather conditions those are not favorable for livings beings and property are commonly known as severe weather conditions. The term weather mostly deals with atmospheric conditions. It describes all types of atmospheric phenomena at a given location and point of time in a scientific way. Severe weather conditions are the results of atmospheric disturbances.

Storms

Storms are the most commonly observed forms of severe weather conditions. Strong current of air, lightening, thunder and many other atmospheric disturbances characterize storm. Based on the variations of weather conditions there can be different types of storms like Maelstorm , Firestorm , Ocean Storm , Thunderstorms , snowstorm and the list goes on.

Cyclone

Low atmospheric pressure results in the creation of cyclone . It involves inward movement of strong winds. Movement of winds can be either clockwise or anti clockwise depending upon its point of origin. Tropical, extratropical, subtropical, polar cyclone, mesocyclone and polar low are the types of cyclone that are prevalent in cyclone prone areas of the world.

Hurricanes

Hurricane is a particular variety of tropical cyclone. Hurricanes involve strong wind blowing at a speed of 74 miles per hour. It is usually accompanied by severe thunderstorms. High ocean temperature and high relative humidity are some of the pre requisites of hurricanes.








Tornadoes , Typhoons and Squall are some other forms of severe weather conditions. Severe weather conditions result in weather-related disasters. Avalanche, dust storm, landslide and flash flood are some of the disasters caused by atmospheric disturbances.
