Weather Sensors

Weather Sensors are a combination of deferent kind of weather instruments which helps in detecting sudden unexpected weather conditions in advance so that precautionary measures can be taken accordingly.
These Weather Sensors are placed within the weather instruments.

Weather in short can be defined as the atmospheric condition of a particular place and time determined by several variables like wind velocity, moisture, atmospheric temperature and pressure. All these weather conditions are determined according to the reading and measurement of various Weather Sensors.

Weather Sensors can be classified into several divisions according to their usage like:

Temperature and Humidity Sensors Temperature sensors are the devices that can detect variable temperatures. These sensors can be classified into two separate groups, 'contact' and 'non-contact'.

Contact Sensors
  • Thermometers
  • Thermocouples
  • Thermistors
  • Semiconductor Temperature Sensor
Non-contact Sensor
  • Radiation Thermometers
  • Thermal Imagers
  • Emissivity
Humidity sensors can detect and measure presence of water in the air. Different types of humidity sensors are used for measuring Relative Humidity and Capacitative Humidity.
  • Barometric Pressure Sensors These sensors are used for measuring atmospheric pressure. There are different types of barometric pressure sensors like BP Sensor, Mercury Barometer, Pocket Barometer, Barograph, etc.
  • Wind Speed Sensors Wind speed sensors provide accurate information on wind velocity. Several types of Anemometers are used for measuring wind speed.
  • Wind Direction Sensors Different types of Windvane are used to determine the direction of wind.
  • Solar Radiation Sensors These sensors are used for measuring natural sunlight, reflected solar radiation and also several artificial lights. Different types of Pyranometers are the instruments for measuring solar radiation.
