Digital Image Editing
Digital Image Editing is a process of image modification. It brings alteration in digital photographs. Before digital scanners and cameras came into mainstream, traditional analog image editing was called photo retouching. Here tools such as an airbrush are used for editing photographs. or editing illustrations with conventional art medium. However, with the introduction of digital images, analog image editing has gone out of the market.
Raster images are usually being stored in a computer in the form of pixels. These pixels contain the color and brightness of images. Image editors can change the pixels to increase the image in his own ways. The pixels could be changed as a group, or individually.
Currently the Digital Image Editing are becoming easily available due to the popularity of digital cameras and digital photography. Data compression can also be a process of Digital Image Editing. When images are stored in JPEG format, it is said that compression has already taken place. Both computer programs and cameras allow the user to set the level of compression.
In true sense Digital Image Editing is used for developing and altering images. It is in fact one of the most technical improvement procedure that are being used often for digital photography.
