Lens cleaning is necessary because lens is better known as the eye of the camera. Cleaning the lens requires special care because the lens is the most sensitive part of the camera.

You may use a soft blower but it is better to take it to the technician who generally uses a viscous fluid. You may keep silica gel in a perforated container which will prevent fungus growth on the surface of the lens.
