Batteries
Batteries are a string of more than two cells in a series. Cells are basically electrochemical objects that stores chemical energy and transforms it into electrical form. Batteries are considered as the most expensive source of energy.
There are many types of batteries, primarily, the two types of batteries are the rechargeable and the non-rechargeable batteries , that is they are the disposable batteries. Disposable batteries are more often referred to as the primary cells. The disposable batteries are used in portable devices like camera , torches etc. These batteries serves good in devices which has a low current drain. The chemical reactions of the disposable batteries are not reversible. Zinc carbon batteries, alkaline batteries, zinc-chloride batteries, silver-oxide batteries, mercury batteries are all disposable batteries.
The rechargeable batteries can be recharged using electrical chargers which works with electrical currents, which can easily reverse the chemical reaction and can be put to reuse.
Apart from these two types of batteries there are flow batteries, homemade cells etc. In a flow battery there are additional quantities of electrolyte stored. They are large capacity batteries. The homemade cells are the batteries which can be made with any moist object which has enough ions to conduct electricity.
