Kirlian Photography
Kirlian photography is a kind of print photography that is generally associated with high voltage. Introduced by Semyon Kirlian, Kirlian photography is done by putting the subject on a photographic plate and transferring high voltage to it that results in the outcome of corona emission and production of an image on the photographic plate. Kirlian worked on an extensive field of metaphysics that made his photographs scientifically viable.
Several eminent personalities from the field of physics and photography like Georg Christopher Lichtenberg and Nikola Tesla researched extensively in the field of photography. However the most successful researcher in this field was Semyon Kirlian, whose work led to the discovery of the terms and theories like electrography, electro photography, and corona discharge photography as a part of Kirlian photography.
Several fields of photography have been named after Kirlian like Kirlian photography, Kirlian energy and so on. Kirlian photography had that specialty of producing a halo around the subject of interest. He had that rare quality of lighting particular points of human body that are known as acupuncture points. He proved that living beings produce an energy field around them.
. His experimentation of photographing a leaf in its various stages is famous throughout the world. Kirlian's experiments with photography are well known for its scientific values and validity. Though Kirlian's claims at the beginning created controversy but later on was accepted to be justified.
