Indoor Photography
Indoor Photography is the genre in photography which requires special techniques and lighting to capture a moment with a camera. In Indoor photography, lighting and the shot composition plays a major role. Indoor photography can be further categorized into many parts depending on the amount of light used in taking the photograph.
Indoor photography can be taken by using both natural and artificial lightings at the same time or the two types of lighting individually as per the requirement. Although natural lights are considered to be the best while doing indoor photography. Artificial lights can be used to get the desired effects in indoor photography such as creating a shadow or need of an additional light to highlight the subject in the photograph. Use of artificial lights can create hues,unnatural colors and shades in a photograph because of the difference in light temperature. While using artificial lights in indoor photography one must use the “white balance” method to get the picture and the effects of lights more accurate in the photograph.
In Indoor Photography shadows and highlights can be an advantageous or a disadvantageous factor. Depth of field is an important aspect in indoor photography, where the camera and the lights should be used in such a way that the emphasis is more on the subject and the background gets blurred or fuzzier.
