Documentary Photography
Documentary photography is a form of professional photojournalism. In a project of documentary Photography the photographer needs to capture the situation or the thing “as it was” rather that organizing the situation. Documentary photography is all about candid, truthful and objective photography of the subject that is being shot. Documentary photography is used for various purposes, some are used for publications along with stories in magazines or news papers while others are exhibited in the art galleries for public viewing and there are also some which are commissioned by some organization or company.
Documentary photography is done by different people for different purposes. The press photographers are the ones who are most involved in documentary photography. As per the ethical laws of the Press Photographers Association the press photographers should opt for Documentary Photography as it is in such candid and unguarded moments that genuine news can be captured.
In certain situations people are made to pose for a documentary photography. This is usually when a certain photograph is to be published with a certain commodity then sometimes a person is asked to pose with it for a picture.
Often the armature photographers make certain documentary photography which are good images of subjects and can be later used in reference to something.
