Vodafone Group is the largest mobile telecommunications network company It's headquarter is in Newbury, Berkshire, England. The name Vodafone has originated from Voice data fone. It provides the facility of voice and data services over cell phones. In 1992 Vodafone won Australia’s third mobile carrier license and started running its operation from the next year. Currently Vodafone is the third largest mobile carrier in Australia beside Telstra and Optus. The GSM network almost covers 93% of the population of Australia.
In 2005 November Vodafone Australia launched its 3G network. it offers all the modern facilities to its users starting from music to sports, from games to news and from video calling and mobile to broadband services. With the excellent service Vodafone is appealing strongly to the increased. Currently it has launched high speed HSDPA services in 2006 October in Sydney and Melbourne. Apart from this it has also a plan to move into fixed-line communications.
