OTE
The national telecommunication provider in Greece is called the OTE. OTE in this aspect stands for Hellenic Telecommunication Organization in Greek language. In Greece OTE is the current telecommunication operator. Till the year 1998, the telecommunication market had a monopoly in Greece. After 1998 when many other competitor came into the scene, OTE was privatized.
The Greek government holds 50% stock of the OTE in Greece. National Telecommunication and post commission regulates the operation of all the telecommunication company in Greece along with OTE also driven under the same rules of operation.
OTE operates the telecommunication system with advanced technology as the digital PSDN and ISDN telephones. In the urban centers in Greece, OTE also provides the ADSL telecommunication systems. Under the OTE banner there are many other telecommunication company.

The OTE group owns the OTE fixed-line company, “Otenet” that is an ISP company, “Cosmote”, the mobile phone company. A TETRA company also runs under the OTE. Apart from the telecommunication companies OTE also operates in International investments. In return the international investment brings in revenue from the telecommunication companies in Southern Europe comprising of Bulgaria, Romania, Serbia and many other.
