Siemens is a Munich, Germany based electronics company founded by Werner von Siemens on October 1, 1847, based on the non-Morse code telegraph he had invented. Siemens' international headquarters are in Berlin and Munich, Germany. Earlier a major manufacturer of GSM mobile phones, the Siemens Mobile part of the firm was sold to Taiwan's BenQ in 2005 to create BenQ-Siemens, a company that has stumbled badly since its beginning, leading to a registering for closure in 2006.
Siemens, in 1997, had brought out the 1st GSM cellular phone with color display.
The Fixed Networks, Mobile Networks and Carrier Services divisions of Siemens unified with Nokia’s Network Business Group in a 50/50 joint venture,in April 2007, producing a fixed and mobile network company called Nokia Siemens Networks.
The Siemens phones are ideal for people who look for functionality over mere beauty and fashionableness. Fully loaded, easily maneuverable, and pocket friendly phones are the signatures of Siemens and BenQ- Siemens Mobile Phones.
