Mobile Phones
Mobile phones have captured the global telecommunications market in the twenty first century. The mobile phones are also called as cell phones. Though the concept of mobile phones has been a hit from late 90's, the introduction of cell phones dates back to as early as 1947. The introduction of cells for mobile phone base stations was invented in 1947 by Bell Labs engineers at AT&T. Bell Labs developed it further during 60's.
The totally automatic mobile networks were first introduced in 1980's. The year of 1981 saw the first introduction of fully automated mobile phones system by Nordic Mobile Telephone (NMT) system. But till mid 90's mobile phones were not convenient to carry owing to its big size. The then mobile phones could rarely be carried in the shirt or jacket pockets. They were mostly used as car phones, installed in cars on permanent basis. But they were accepted widely because of its utility in mobile communication.

From late 90's the technology behind mobile phones is advancing at a massive rate. The users of mobile phones are not content solely with speaking over phones. The mobile phone users can send Short Messaging Service (SMS) to inform something important to any distant mobile user in a matter of seconds. The mobile users can even send or receive pictures or videos using Multimedia Messaging Service (MMS). Internet pages can even be opened in advanced mobile phones.
The mobile phones come of every price range for people from all strata of society to afford. The mobile phones have reached the household of even distant villages in a developing nation like India. The mobile manufacturing companies have come up with schemes of prepaid and postpaid to help the mobile users communicate according to their budget.
