British Brittania has been extolled since 1987 for great exquisiteness, unimpeachable excellence and exceptional worth and is more than just Europe’s gold bullion coin series as it is emerging as a premier modern coin of Europe. The gold Britannia was born distinctively British with the symbol of Britannia that has long been venerated as the epitome of the western world. The gold Britannia features a standing figure of Britannia which resembles the depiction used in the Edward VII florins. The "Standing Britannia" statue used on the gold Britannia coins was designed by the sculptor Philip Nathan. The coins are available in four variants whose sizes are one ounce, half ounce, quarter ounce, and a tenth ounce and have face values of £100, £50, £25, and £10 each respectively. The concise descriptions of the dimensions of the gold Britannia are as follows:
The symbol of Britannia has been long admired around the world. The popularity of the British Brittania series of gold coins therefore comes as no surprise. The coins display with éclat their unique designs and also possess a tangible liquidity power. The coin has low premium over gold content that amounts to possibly 10% premium for single pieces and £10 premium for a quantity of ten or more, over the basic bullion price. From the onset of January 2000, the Britain investment became Value Added Tax (VAT) free for gold coins.
