The Tiger’s Eye has a fascinating at the same time unusual alternate stripes in yellow and golden brown. High temperature and sharp blows can destroy the stone very easily.

The Tiger’s Eye is a cut “en cabochon”. The term “en cabochon” is used in describing the cut stones with convex top and flat bottom. This actually helps in displaying the vertical stripes or bands known as chatoyancy.

In the ancient time Romans thought that the Tiger’s Eye could predict the future and would protect them in the battlefields. The Roman soldiers wore the stones in time of battle.

The Tiger’s Eye stone is used as gemstone and ornamental stone. It is used in jewelry making widely allover the world. It is mostly used as pendant and beads. The Tiger’s Eye stone beaded necklace is very popular in India.

The Tiger’s Eye symbolizes the celebration of the 9th marriage anniversary and is often presented to partners as a token of love.
