Morganite

Belonging to the family of Beryls, Morganites are known as the precious gemstones and are coveted by women all over the world. Though it has emerged a long time back, this gemstone gained proper recognition in the year 1911. New York based gemnologist G.F. Kunz raised this “pink beryl” to the status of a gemstone. Beryls are basically colorless but if it is mixed with foreign elements it gets transformed into colored gemstones. One such transformation took place in the case of Morganite.

If manganese is added to a beryl its color changes into pink and thus “Morganites” are formed. These stones are mainly found in the countries like Brazil, Madagascar, Afghanistan and California. Morganites are also available in light violet or lilac hues. The color of this stone always represents spirit, softness. The special quality of this stone lies in the fact that even in the bad times, the gemstone shows the good aspects of life. The stone is widely used in therapeutic processes like stress -related problems. The hardness of these stone varies from 7.5 to 8.

Morganite gemstones are judged by the color of the stone. While buying always go for large size of this stone because the color is very prominent in these shapes. It is being said that the transparency of a morganite gemstone determines the value of the stone. Proper cutting is very much necessary in order to bring out the shine of the stone. So what are you waiting for, just go and buy one of those valuable morganites.
