Bixbite

Bixbite is a specific kind of emerald stone known as beryl which is also known as red beryl, red emerald or scarlet emerald. It is mainly found along the Wah Wah ranges and Thomas range on the mid-western side of Utah, Mexico. It is also found in Patagonia, Girona, Spain, India, and South Africa. It owes its name to Maynard Bixby, who was a mineral collector in Utah.

Topaz stones which have rhyolites are generally rich with bixbite. Some of the minerals with which bixbite is found are Bixbyite, Quartz, Orthoclase, Topaz, Hematite, and Pseudobrookite. Bixbite basically occurs in volcanic rocks with rich silica deposits.












Bixbite has great demand because of its gem quality and is used for the carving of beautiful jewelries.

It is available in a number of brilliant colors of pink and red and it is also available in different shapes and sizes. Bixbite is associated with the astrological signs of Taurus and Aries.
