Azurite comprises of copper carbonate hydroxide and is bluish in color. The name of this precious stone is derived from an Arabic word. This mineral was formed due to the oxidation of certain copper sulphide minerals. This gemstone is also known as the “ Blue Verditer” and “Blue Bice”.
