Ametrine

The Ametrine gemstone is an uncommon jewel that is a combination of amethyst and citrine. The color of this rare gemstone happens to be an orange tinged yellow and purple. The stone commonly has a rectangular shape with equal proportion of the two components. This quartz, having both the colors of amethyst and citrine, is known as ametrine.

The rare ametrine is abundantly produced in the Anahi Mine situated in Bolivia. This mine is the only source of this rare gemstone. This stone has many facets including a checkerboard style usually found in the topmost region of the stone to intensify light reflection. It is a long-lasting stone, which is very popular among the carvers and also the artistic cutters. These people love to play with colors and hence give different shapes to the gemstone.

The gemstone is available in different shapes and sizes but the color is more prominent in the stones weighing more than seven carats. This gemstone is also used for keeping a balance in between the material as well as the spiritual world. This stone also helps in building up good relationship with people. The stone has also been used for meditation.
