Amazonite

Coral is known as a macrobiotic gemstones formed from organic sources that is basically the "skeleton" formed by the individual polyps, plant-like animals.Amazonite is a rare and precious stone which belongs to the category of microcline feldspar. It is also known as Amazon stone. It is green in color. Its name has been derived from the Amazon River because certain green stones were known to evolve from this river. Whether Amazonite is one such green stone is a debatable issue.

Earlier, this rare mineral was only found in parts of Miyask of the Ilmen Mountains. But today, it is also available in Pike’s Peak and Crystals Peak in Colorado. It is also found in certain areas of United States. It is also found in Brazil, Zimbabwe, Australia and Namibia.

Green Amazonite is brilliantly polished and used as a unique gemstone. According to a particular section of people, the green color of amazonite is due to the presence of copper while others feel that it is green in color due to the presence of a very small amount of lead and water.







However, amazonite is available in different shades of green such as bluish green and yellow green. Its estimated hardness in the Mohs scale is 5 to 6. The minerals which are found along with amazonite or its associates are quartz, pollucite, lepidolite, and morganite.
