Asscher Cut

Named after its founder, Joseph Asscher, the desired Asscher Cut was introduced in 1902. During this time, the round brilliant cut was very much prevalent. It soon caught up with the popularity of round brilliant cut and turned out to be one of the most popular cuts employed to beautify precious gemstones.

Asscher cut diamonds are square shaped. With regard to their shape, asscher cut gemstones resemble an emerald cut stone because both exhibit step cut. But, diamonds with this cut are larger than the emerald cut diamonds.

The different aspects of a diamond are arranged beautifully in asscher cut with the aim to bring out the inner beauty. Its bottom has great depth which accounts for the enormous brilliance of this type of diamond and it is characterized with ‘small table’ and ‘high crown’. One thing that you must notice while selecting your asscher cut diamond is its corners.

These corners must be visible because they act as beauty enhancers. Due to its step cut, an asscher cut diamond reflects out tremendous amount of brightness and is marked for its high popularity. In fact, good amount of luster is an indication of good quality. In present times, good quality asscher cut diamonds are produced by the Asscher Diamond Company.

Asscher shaped diamonds are used to make beautiful jewelries especially rings, pendants, and ear-rings. Diamonds styled in Asscher cut are a definite symbol of class and sophistication. They reflect elegance and beauty.
