The World Wide Web , often abbreviated as the “ web ” is the largest sub networking system under the Internet . The World Wide Web functions on the basis of sub networking languages or Protocols . The protocol most important to the World Wide Web is HTTP or Hypertext Transfer Protocol . The World Wide Web came into proper existence around the time Internet was born. Tim Berners Lee's attempt to provide the world with a simple networking system is the reason why the web was invented in 1990. Robert Cailliau was the collaborator of the web server and the web projects.
How Does The World Wide Web Work?
When you approach a web browser as the Netscape Navigator, you can view the web pages that are placed in the World Wide Web. You click on the links, which in turn are supported by hypertext documents.
Initially the World Wide Web was meant to serve CERN, a renowned particle physics lab. Today the World Wide Web is so frequent a term that you usually tend to use it simultaneously for the Internet.
But it is to be noted that the Internet is distinct from the World Wide Web.
The Internet refers to the networking system that connects all the computers connected to the networking system. The Internet has many sub networking platforms as the World Wide Web, the mail sending programs and the likes. These sub networking programs work on Protocol languages as:
HTTP
FTP
SMTP
