Mathbrowser

Mathbrowser is one of the discontinued specialty browsers, which is created in such a way, that it can browse standard HTML documents as well as specially formatted documents. These documents express mathematical features.

Features of Mathbrowser

  • The later versions of Mathbrowser do not possess any personal rendering engine in the HTML format. The new versions are only “MSIE skins”.
  • Other older versions which work with Windows 3.1, had individual HTML engines that were primitive.

  • Mathsoft
    • Mathbrowser was written by Mathsoft Incorporation and one could previously download it or collect information about it from their web site.
    • Now it appears that the use of Mathbrowser is no longer continued because the manufacturing company web site does not even mention the name of Mathbrowser.
    • It seem that the older Mathbrowser, sends a string that is totally empty, therefore those who tries to detect this browser, finds it to be empty.

    Mathcad

  • Mathbrowser was originally an old application for 32-bit Windows and it bases itself on the Mathcad 5.0 version.
  • In 1995 it was available as a free browser.
  • Users knew that Mathcad was a tool that could effectively publish mathematics for the Internet.
  • It could solve differential equations in different methods of calculations and various other complicated mathematical problems. Most of the important functions of Mathbrowser are performed under Mathcad 6.0.
