BrailleSurf

BrailleSurf is the most significant of all the Current Specialty Browsers, which is essentially based on HTML elements and is meant to be used by the visually impaired people. It was developed with the motive of improvising the browsing activity.

Important Feature of BrailleSurf

BrailleSurf is based on the model of window 95 and Window NT and also makes use of the ActiveX technological aspects. This web browser is similar to the useful Braille tools which have 20 to 80 cells. It also consists of buttons which enables quick and easy selection of a required item by the visually handicapped users. Another important feature of BrailleSurf, which is worth mentioning here is that it is also equipped with “Speech Synthesis Systems”. One of such system which is usually found in BrailleSurf is Speech Engine, developed by Elan Informatique.
Three Steps Functioning of BrailleSurf

BrailleSurf’s functioning can be divided by three different steps. Firstly, a Document Downloader is required, which launch a “request” with a web server which makes use of a HTTP protocol. Secondly, this request is received and processed by a Filter. Finally the processed document is send to the Browsing User Interface, which presents the document in a Braille form and makes it possible for the visually disabled people to read through the document.

Thus, BrailleSurf happens to be one of the most popular browsers, which make it possible for the visually impaired people to access the Internet and remain updated.
