Arachne

If you are on the look out for a DOS system compatible web browser then Arachne is the name you should be looking for. This web browser has been of considerable help to those who write files on DOS computers and need a suitable Internet suite to check out on the compatibility of the program they write. Arachne was created by Michael Polak of Arachne Labs.

Significant Features of Arachne

  • You need a standard serial modem if you are accessing your Internet connection via dial-up connection.
  • You may use any device with a packet driver as Ethernet card for accessing local network connections.
  • Arachne (DOS) can operate on Windows XP, Windows 2000 and Windows NT.
  • You can send and receive Internet e-mails on MIME compatible systems.
  • No intake of virus from e-mail or otherwise.
  • You can edit the source codes of local HTML pages.
  • You have the freedom to execute FTP exchanges.

Apart from Arachne (DOS), Arachne has also been created for POSIX compatible computer systems such as Linux. This is the Alpha Version of Arachne.
