Graphical Browsers

Graphical Browsers are certain types of web browsers .

They are software applications that allow users to display and interact with various images, present on the web pages. Graphical Browsers were first distributed by Mosaic, for the Wold Wide Web, on a wide scale. It is said that Mosaic was instrumental in exposing people to the world of the Internet and World Wide Web. Graphical Browsers are similar to text-based browsers, but it has additional features, that support the user interface in association with tables, forms, titles and multiple selection lists.

Types of Graphical Browsers

Some of the important Graphical Browsers are:

•  Internet Explorer : It is also known as Windows Internet Explorer and its developer is Microsoft. It is the most preferred graphical browser, for its excellent features such as accessibility, usability, security and component architecture.

•  Netscape Browser : It is released by AOL in its latest version and is based on the more successful browser called Mozilla Firefox.

•  AM Browser : It is a very powerful graphical browser and makes Internet surfing much more easy and comfortable. It can open many web sites in just one browser task

AOL Explorer : It was the first graphical browser to use thumbnail sized preview of web pages. In addition to this, it also supports a feature called tabbed browsing.
