Usenet Quoting

The practice of including a reference or context while one is responding to a particular e-mail is known as Usenet Quoting. That is the received message which is called the original message in Usenet Quoting is included as a piece of reference while one is replying. Suppose you receive an e-mail saying “Hi, How are you”. Now if you want to use Usenet Quoting for replying to this specific e-mail, you have to first include this original message in your mail and then you need to reply so that the flow of conversation is maintained.

Usenet is one of the oldest computer networks, marked with a global significance. It was discovered by the graduate students of Duke University in 1979. One important aspect of Usenet which accounts for its popularity is that the different articles that are posted in it are automatically organized and categorized.
Identifying Usenet Quoting

It may appear to you that in case of Usenet Quoting it will be problematic distinguishing between the original message and the one you are sending in reply. However, to avoid such confusions, a specific character is placed before the original message or reference which is not included before the reply.
Correct Usage of Usenet Quoting

It is necessary to know the correct method of Usenet Quoting before making use of it. Here it should be noted that quoting the entire original message which you are using as reference is not required at all. You should only quote the relevant portion of the original e-mail to which you are replying.
