Introduction:

Domain name system is a very important aspect in the field of Internet. The domain name system or DNS acts as a phone book to the Internet services and provide several important information. DNS security is also associated with this term. The primary job of a Domain name system is to translate the computer host names that are readable.

DNS security is also very essential aspect in the field of domain name system of Internet. The security system is very much needed to protect the domain name system from unauthorized users. The Internet Engineering Task Force or IETF is also working on the Domain Name System security or DNS security to extend the level of security. This increased level of security within the domain name system is called DNSSEC.
The mechanism of DNS security: The powerful mechanisms of DNS support the Internet communications and determine various Internet host names into IP or Internet Protocol addresses. At the same time it also transfers the IP addresses into the Internet host names. The basic aim of DNS security or domain name system security is to protect the Internet domain name system from the several illegal approaches and threats like DNS cache poisoning and so on.

The resource records that the DNS security brings to the Internet are Resource Record Signature or RRSIG, Delegation Signer or DS, DNS Public Key or DNSKEY, and lastly the Next Secure NSEC. DNS security has come to the forefront in today’s world especially with the growing rates in cyber crime and other related criminal activates.
