Desktop Internet Option
Desktop Internet Option means the Internet Options available for desktop computers. Desktop Internet Option can also mean the icon which is actually the door showing us the way to go through various web pages.
The Internet Options used in Desktop are
Ethernet Card: Ethernet Cards fit into any open PCI slot in the mother board of the computer and accepts the ethernet connection from the cable, DSL or satellite modem, or the Local Area Network (LAN).
Wireless Card: A PCI card can be installed in a desktop computer on a wireless receiver connected through the USB port of the CPU. This needs a wireless router which should be connected to the cable modem, DSL or LAN to send the internet signal for the computer to receive.
Internal Modem: An internet modem is basically a PCI card that is used by the computer to connect itself to the phone line. This requires comparatively a longer connection time and is therefore extremely slow.
However Desktop Internet Options are also said to be the icons of browsers which are present on the desktop. They lead us to open a page on the internet.
Different internet options, which we use to surf the net, are:
Internet Explorer: It is the most widely used browser, which is quite easier and faster than others.
Opera: This is one of the most popular browsers used worldwide.
Mozilla Firefox: This is relatively less popular than Internet Explorer as it is comparatively newer. The most important advantage of Mozilla Firefox is that you can open quite a few windows under one tab without the work getting slower. Generally open source programs run on this browser.
Netscape: This can be said to be the best browser when quite a few computers are connected through local networking.
Salamander: This is quite an uncommon browser as it is not meant for all operating systems. It is mainly meant for LINUX.
Thus Desktop Internet Option be it the icon or the option is an essential part for enjoying the internet connection and without it we cannot visit any web site or access the internet.
