Broadband Internet Connection
The Broadband Internet Connection is also referred as just broadband or broadband Internet. It may be defined as a high rate of transmission of data in the Internet connection. Broadband is a much cost effective internet connection than others.
Broadband technologies, which are most popularly used by the consumers, are DSL and cable modem. In a Broadband Internet Connection the transmitting rate is much faster than the dial-up modems as broadband has higher bitrates than dial-up.
Due to a high speed of data transmission, Broadband Internet Connection is also called high speed Internet. Any connection, which is equivalent to or more than 256 kbit is considered as Broadband Internet Connection.
It is stated in act I.113 of the “International Telecommunication Union Standardization Sector” that a transmission capacity, which is faster than an ISDN rate at 1.5 to 2 Mbit is Broadband Internet Connection. Broadband has various other definitions acclaimed by organizations like FCC and the “Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development”.
The broadband technologies are more commonly referred to DSL and cable modems. But today several technologies like VDSL and pushing optical fiber connections have been invented.
The Broadband Internet Connection underwent a rapid growth in the Internet connection market across the globe.
