Avoidant Personality Disorder is a type of Personality Disorder where the affected person’s behavior is marked by social inhibition, pessimism, lack of confidence and feelings of inadequacy. Such a person is usually very sensitive to any kind of criticism.

5. What are the symptoms of Personality Disorders?

It is difficult to identify Personality Disorders. But some of the identifiable symptoms are as follows:

b.)  Manipulative and exploitative behavior
c.)  Prolonged depression
d.)  Lack of self-confidence
e.)  Lack of sensitivity towards others’ problems

To treat a person having Personality Disorders, it is important that the person comes forward to seek medical help. A desire must be shown first to break through the rigid and enduring pattern of Personality Disorders. Therapy, Self-help Groups, Friends, Family and Medication, all of these are seen as treatments for Personality Disorders.
