An age between puberty and maturity, teenagers pass through a very critical stage as they undergo both physical and mental changes. It is important to check their complex health issues and take care of their eating habits, exercise, medical conditions like sexuality and puberty, emotional fluctuations like anxiety, depression, and frustration.
It has been found out by doctors that good health habits in the teenage impacts ones future. The kind of attention one gives in adolescence while growing will be the foundation to good health and beauty.
For a teen it is very important to workout and exercise. Exercise relieves stress, obesity, menstrual pains, depression, frustration, improves circulation which in turn improves skin texture. Initially one may feel it boring and painful but there is no gain without pain. One can try various activities like different sports, or aerobics for workout which may not be boring.
Adequate amount of proper food including carbohydrates, proteins and fats are a must to develop good health and good appearance. A teen may not like what the rest of the family eats or the right food according to their parents. Fast foods are teenagers’ favorite which have lots of calories and detrimental to their health. The healthy foods have low calories and right kind of nutritional value required for their growth. Junk food can be the cause of obesity and other health problems like heart disease, diabetes etc in the future.
To have overall fitness and good health, one can’t avoid focusing on their mental health. Mental and physical healths are intricately related. A teen is very prone to mental turmoil rising from very simple causes like being bullied in the school, mentally abused by teachers or parents, sibling rivalry, ignorance of onset of puberty, panic attack and anxiety disorders. In the near future these things may have a negative impact in their life. Emotions like hopelessness, anxiety and depression leads to lack of confidence and they may often indulge them in taking drugs. It is important for the parents to have friendly terms with their children have knowledge of their daily happenings in their school and if required counseling from an expert can help.
Teenagers’ health care includes regular exercise, good food habit and proper mental development which boost their confidence and make them good human beings in the future.
