Environmental Health Issues

With increasing environmental degradation, Environmental Health Issues are fast becoming of paramount importance to humans. Human health and environment are inseparably linked and therefore it is important that every human being should be aware of the various environment health issues. The main sources of environmental pollution are:

1.Nitrates from fertilizers and pesticides
2.Hazardous contaminants leaking from tanks and disposal landfills
3.Chemical effluent, toxic substances and industrial wastes
4.Aluminium sulphate used at water treatment works

The major Health Environmental Issues in question include, among other things:
1.Air Pollution: Harmful gasses released from factories as well as the increasing number of vehicles contribute to the air pollution that is on the rise everyday. This has also contributed to the rapid increase of diseases like asthma, bronchitis and other lung and heart disorders.

2.Water Pollution: Mostly caused by discharge from tanks, industrial wastes and misappropriation of natural water reserves, water pollution is an area of grave concern for human health. Not only does it cause serious illnesses, but it also changes the ecological balance killing marine wildlife. Common water borne diseases are diarrhea, dysentery, cholera and other fatal diseases.

3.Environmental Pollution: Global warming, affecting all aspects of environment, is leading to a whole range of fatal diseases and constant source of illnesses. It also causes unexpected natural calamities and extreme weather conditions. With nuclear science developing and making huge experiments, while science is progressing human life is being greatly threatened. Radioactive elements and harmful gasses from disastrous experiments or accidents have left millions incapacitated and the effects are still visible.

4.Food Pollution: Genetic modification of agricultural yields, and further use of fertilizer and pesticides leaves food polluted, that humans consume and end up being vulnerable. It also in the long run affects our body by affecting the hormones dangerously. 5.Occupational Hazards: With industry taking a front foot, effects are showing prominently in all humans. Prolonged work habits, artificially controlled work environment and other such issues are leaving a large section of the working population in hazard.

To ensure safer and more productive human life, these Environmental Health Issues need to be controlled and handled in time.
