 Long Term Health Insurance
An illness or accident can happen to anyone of any age. A misconception regarding long-term health insurance means a prolonged stay in a nursing home or rehabilitation center. The portability of medical equipments nowadays prefers that patients remain in their own home. Insurance companies prefer paying for full-time home care instead of nursing home care, realizing that it is more cost effective and beneficial on the patient’s side.
Long term health insurance intends in preparing and planning meals, taking care of personal hygiene, dressing, household chores including shopping and paperwork and any other medical needs for the patient.Another type of long-term care facility is called assisted living. Here the patient lives in his personal apartment and tends to their needs. The patient remains close enough to the nursing home facility.
Long term health insurance is now more acceptable. This is because of the introduction of assisted living and the in-home nursing care which allows a patient to remain in his home.
