Women’s Health

A woman, since puberty undergoes a lot of complicated body transformations. She is born with a complex and delicate body structures. Playing multiple roles in a life span, from a mother, a daughter to a wife, or from a homemaker to a wage earner, a woman has different body requirements at different stages of life.

Like men, they are liable to common diseases like, heart ailments, diabetes, blood pressures, cholesterol, osteoporosis, lower back pain, urinary tract infections, , and interstitial cystitis to prolonged sickness of cancer, anemia, etc.

A woman is also at a risk to some distinct female disorders, due to their reproductive role, including, like, menstrual disorders, pregnancy, breast feeding etc. Is comprises of:

  • Pregnancy
  • Menstrual Disorders
  • Breast Feeding
  • Breast Cancer
  • Infertility

Therefore, special care is taken during pregnancy and other (pre and post natal) stages of reproduction.

Some suggestive preventive measures that can be taken to maintain a healthy body of women:

1. Food habits:

a. Control blood pressure: Treating high blood pressure can lower the risk of heart attack and stroke.
b. Control cholesterol level: Regular doctor’s check-ups and healthy basic intake.
c. Eat a low-fat diet: Fat calories to 30% or less of the total calories intake during a day and avoidance of saturated fat that is in meats and coconut oil.
d. Take care of diabetes. Regular exercise, weight control, a low-fat diet and regular doctor visits can be helpful.

2. Maintain a healthy weight. Extra weight puts strain on heart and arteries. Therefore, regular exercise and a low-fat diet can assist in losing weight.

3. Exercise regularly. We forget that our heart is also a muscle. It needs regular exercise to stay in shape. Aerobic exercise, such as brisk walking, swimming, jogging or biking, gives the best workout.

4. Smoking is injurious: Smoking is a major risk factor for heart disease in women. More than half of the heart attacks in women under 50 are related to smoking.
