The University of Edinburgh is one of the top 10 universities in Europe and one of the 30 top universities of the world. It was established in the year 1582. It is one of the largest universities in the British Isles having a student population of 25,000 approximately.
The university is divided into to three colleges and has number of schools under it. The list of the colleges and some of its schools are:

FACILITIES:
Edinburgh University has libraries, museums and galleries. The library has an online facility too. Apart form the main library there are several other libraries for the student's usage. The university has two archives, the University Archives and the Lothian Health Service Archives.
The scholarships and student finance offered by the university are: Overseas Research Students (ORS) Awards Scheme 2007, University of Edinburgh International Master's Scholarships and the University of Edinburgh UK/EU Postgraduate Adult Returner Bursaries.
