Scotland is north-European country having an area of only 79000 square kilometers. Though a part of the United Kingdom it has its unique culture and life-style. Scotland is surrounded by water sharing land border only with England. It has about 790 islands among which only 130 are inhabited. The country is divided into three major regions the Highlands, the Central lowlands and the Southern Uplands. Two third of the country is mountainous so population is very low in Scotland.

This European country though shares many things with England retains its identity through its exclusive culture, music and literature.
