London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine

Located in London and established in 1899 with the name of The London School of Tropical Medicine, The London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine (LSHTM) is affiliated to the University of London and is Britain's principal school of public health.

Scholarships

Students enrolling into the full time postgraduate course on Community Eye Health may apply for the Lt. Col Henry Kirkpatrick Scholarship. The scholarship is worth £10,000 and covers course fees for the entire duration of the course as well as living expenses. Students, (preferably postgraduate applicants) especially those from South America and Africa may endeavor to receive the Corona Fellowship. The award is generally worth £10,000 and covers living expenses.

  • Projects done by postgraduate students.

The Student's Representative Council (SRC) of LSHTM is a student representative association for all postgraduate students and research scholars. Some of the functions performed by the SRC include the coordination of clubs, societies, and social events for the personal and holistic development of the students and scholars. SRC finances charitable activities and engages students to participate it many of its activities. An Accommodation Support Desk is managed by some students of the School. This Desk assists new students in finding accommodation when they come to study at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. Some students can find a place to stay in the Halls of Residence of the University of London while others can find suitable accommodation in hostels nearby with the help of the Accommodation Support Desk.
