The University situated in Leicester was formed in the late 19th century, had undergone several amalgamations and finally in the year 1992 De Montfort University took birth. De Montfort University (DMU) has two different campuses, The Leicester City campus, situated in the centre of the city and The Charles Frears campus outside the city centre. . Today the University holds more than 25,500 students along with 3,240 staff. It also has a large group of associate colleges. Different Professional, Creative and Vocational Courses are offered at the University.

The University has several Halls for student accommodation especially for International students. �The Students Housing Office' helps every student to find a suitable place to stay. Online application facility is also provided.

DMU students are also benefited by few other facilities like Coaching, Counselling, Nightline services, and Health services. The University also supports students with any kind of Medical disability.
