The south Island has a rich academic heritage which is well portrayed and preserved three universities located here. The three Universities are University of Canterbury, University of Otago, and the Lincoln University
University of Canterbury.
Located in Christchurch, the biggest city of New Zealand, the Canterbury University was established in 1873. Today it has almost 12000 students who come here for their undergraduate, graduate, postgraduate and research degrees. University of Otago
The University of Otago is New Zealand’s oldest university. It was founded in 1869. The university has campuses in five main centers of New Zealand – Dunedin, Southland, Christchurch, Wellington, and Auckland. The courses offered here are grouped under than four departments; business department, health science department, humanities department, and science departments.

Lincoln University
The Lincoln University is a Government University of South Island, New Zealand. Students come here to pursue their Postgraduate, Bachelor, Undergraduate and Research studies. It offers the students with 500 different subject areas. It also has the provision of scholarships and provides other facilities to the students.
