Lincoln University is a government university and it is the third oldest university of New Zealand. It was found and formed in the year 1878 as a School of Agriculture. Today it has become an institution of research programmes mainly emphasizing on land-based studies and their related industries such as agriculture, horticulture, viticulture, biotechnology, environmental science & management, tourism, landscape agriculture and tourism.
Location
Lincoln University is situated near the South Island city of Christchurch inside the province of Canterbury. Students from allover New Zealand come to study at this university.

Lincoln University has their own Student Learning Centre (SLC) that offers workshops, group appointments, tutorials and drop-in sessions. Other than these there is an updated Library and other web resources.
Accommodation
The University accommodation facility includes several options. One can live in a Shared Apartment/flat or choose to live in the Halls of Residence which is divided into two sections – catered and self-catered halls. There are eight halls within the campus. Students can also live off-campus in a private house or flat.
