Wellington Institute of Technology

The Wellington Institute of Technology (WelTec) was formed in 2001 through a merger between the Central Institute of Technology in New Zealand and the Hutt Valley Polytechnic. The institute is the biggest tertiary education provider in Wellington.

It has a total of 3500 full time students.

• Location : The main campus of WelTec is in Petone, situated near the beachfront, boutiques and cafes. The campus is located very close to central Wellington. The other campuses of WelTec are located in Wellington, Auckland and Christchurch.

• Library & Learning Resources : The WelTec library provides access to relevant resources for coursework and research to the students. The resources include subject guides, online resources, books, magazines, videos, DVDs and CD Roms. The library also provides study areas, printing and photocopying services and a large number of PCs with MS Office software installed and access to the Internet.
  
  
• Accommodation : The Wellington Institute of Technology offers affordable and comfortable accommodation to its students. The student residential area is known as Britannia Park, consisting of 44 units and 117 bedrooms. The Britannia Park is located close to the campus and provides single bedroom accommodation with shared lounge, kitchen and bathroom. The institute offers long-term, short-term and summer accommodation. There is also the option of private sector accommodation and a separate International House provided for international students.
